SUMMARY:Planning for the SZ4D Initiative: Landscapes and Seascapes
DESCRIPTION:Pre-Registration is required to join this webinar presented
by the SZ4D Landscapes and Seascapes Working Group:\n\nhttps
 ://washington.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJAkd-6qrz8qE9OfMiYN1
 6_YXPuIkt7LLgXb\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confi
rmation email containing information about joining the meeti
 ng.\n\nIn this one-hour webinar\, you will learn what SZ4D is\,
meet the Landscapes and Seascapes Working Group\, and learn a
bout our efforts to develop a vision and framework to study
the impacts of great subduction zone earthquakes and volcani
c eruptions on sediment generation and transport and the bui
lding and shaping of landscapes and seascapes. There will be
ample time reserved for Q&A. We look forward to your sugges
 tions\, feedback\, and guidance. Come join us!\n\nThe SZ4D\, or S
ubduction Zones in Four Dimensions effort is a research-comm
unity driven initiative in the US to investigate the proces
ses that underlie subduction zone hazards. An NSF-funded pla
nning group is now working to map out a potential decadal-sc
ale program in integrated science of subduction and seeks wi
de community input. Within SZ4D\, three Working Groups have
been convened so far to address major areas of interest:\n\n
Faulting & Earthquake Cycles\n	Magmatic Drivers of Eruption\n
Landscapes & Seascapes: Surface Processes and Subduction\n\n
There will be an opportunity for questions during the webina
 r. If you like\, you may also pre-submit a question for the w
ebinar using this form\, and we will try to address them duri
ng the session.\n\nThis is the last of four planned webinars.
You can view the webinar about the broad vision of the effo
rt and how surface processes plays a role in the SZ4D as wel
l as the previous Working Group webinars here.
