Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology
The objective of the International Research Fellowship Program (IRFP) is to introduce scientists and engineers in the early stages of their careers to international collaborative research opportunities, thereby furthering their research capacity and global perspective and forging long-term relationships with scientists, technologists and engineers abroad. These awards are available in any field of science and engineering research and education supported by NSF.
OISE can support workshops that may immediately precede or follow a larger-scale conference when they add an international dimension that is focused on building research collaboration. The Branco Weiss Fellowship is a unique opportunity that provides young researchers with a generous personal grant that gives them the freedom to work on whatever topic they choose for a maximum duration of five years. The program is coordinated by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH); however, the financing can be used at any institution worldwide. Society in Science was initiated and financed by Dr. Branco Weiss, a Swiss entrepreneur who passed away in October 2010.
